New Experience: My First Wine Club Shipment ❤


I am so excited to officially be in the Wine Business! I posted last month that I joined Wine Shop At Home® as an Independent Wine Consultant and I must say after only 1 month it’s been the best business decision yet. So far, I’ve met some really amazing people, introduced my business to my co-workers and have gotten a ton of positive feedback, and potential customers. I’ve gotten a few Personal Wine Tastings on the Books and a few Sales. I’m super excited with growing momentum every day. Any whoo, Last Wednesday, I received my first Wine Club Shipment and I’m a happy camper. I couldn’t wait to open my little Blue Box. I was supposed to do my first unboxing video however, I haven’t been feeling all that well and decided to do a blog unboxing with pictures.

I signed up for the Artisan Collection® Club Select Membership which is a Monthly 2 Bottle Subscription. For only $39.95/month I will receive my choice of 1 Red Wine (Personal) and 1 White Wine (for my BF, Friends & Family) every single month ❤. You can choose (All Reds, All Whites, or Mixed.. which is what I chose). In addition to the Club Select Membership, they offer a Club Elite Membership 4 Bottles for $64.95 and a Pre-paid Club Option for people who enjoy gifting wine 🙂 3, 6, and 12 months.

I received a 2016 Halcyon Pinot Noir (Red), and a 2017 Halcyon Chardonnay (White). I love the fact that both Wines came with product card that tells you all about the Wine and Pairing Ideas and on the back of the card is a Recipe Pairing.

The Pinot Noir “Red Wine”: came with a Chicken Alfredo and Rice Casserole Recipe in which I will definitely make soon.. minus the Chicken or maybe I’ll use Vegetarian Chickn from Kroger or Whole Foods and for the “White Wine” Chardonnay: they provided a Cauliflower Macaroni and Cheese Recipe ❤ I can’t wait to try this one! Thinking of making it this week.

Overall, the Pinot Noir was Amazing! It was a strong and powerful wine with strong fruity aromas of red fruit such as strawberry and raspberry as indicated on the info card. It was delicious and totally has me eager to order more wines (individually) whilst I await next next monthly shipment. In all honesty, I think that I may upgrade my membership this fall (4 Bottles) 1 bottle every week 🙂 totally makes sense!

Happy Independence Day!

Yesterday, I was finally able to visit le detroit macaron. So glad that I did. They have the cutest little shop in Capitol Park for the Summer, located at Griswold and State Streets. Inside their cute little glass shop they had merch for sale (t-shirts & mugs) but, I was a woman on a mission. I was on a 15 minute work break and had to get my little assortment of macarons. I’ve literally been thinking about them since my first experience with macarons last week. Yep, I’m officially obsessed!😍

I purchased an assortment of 5:

Rose, Chocolate Hazelnut, Almond, Fruity Pebbles, and the Pop Rocks Macaron. Everything was delicious! I did share with my boyfriend and 17 year old son whom also, have never experienced them. Surprisingly, they enjoyed them. My son had the Fruity Pebbles and Pop Rocks. He shared his experience by describing each taste.

The Fruity Pebbles he described as tasting like the actual cereal with a red velvet center.

The Pop Rocks were just like the candy and he loved it. He could hear and feel the pop rocks fizzing and popping on his tongue.. and described the taste as a strawberry ice cream taste with a pop tart icing feel.

I had the Rose and Almond flavors and again they were absolutely incredible! Very light and delicate and I enjoyed them a lot. Can’t wait to visit again.

New Experience: (French Cuisine)

I’ve been wanting to experience this cute little restaurant since like forever. Whenever, I search for great Vegetarian Restaurants near me or the best Brunch Restaurants near me Le Petit Zinc Detroit always pops up in both searches. The Restaurant is located in Midtown 70 W. Alexandrine St., Detroit, MI 48201. They have a pretty nice menu offering everything from Specialty Crepes, Very French Breakfast Items Such as Cereales Avec Yaourt Et Fruit Frais (Granola with Yogurt or Milk and Fresh Fruits) to Croissants with Jam and Tartines (Toasted Baguettes with Jam) however, because it was lunch time and I was feeling a little hangry..  I chose to look at their actual food Menu, this is where the food options got real.. lol. There were plenty of dishes to choose from but, because I’m a simple Soup kinda girl.. I chose to stick with what I know for my first experience. The cool thing is that they offer online ordering via Grub Hub which is how I was able to place my lunch order.

I ordered the Ratatouille as my main course and Macarons for dessert.

There’s  only 1 word to describe them both.. Délicieux!



Vegetable Stew made of Eggplant, Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Onion, and Tomatoes served with a side of sliced Baguettes.


And.. the real experience (Drumroll)…  the Macarons!!! This was my first time ever having Macarons and they were absolutely amazing! The perfect little sweet treat. I love the fact that they had a firm outer-shell, a soft bite and were really sweet and full of flavor, they didn’t taste like confectioners sugar.. Like I’d imagined. They were pretty delightful and I must say that I fell in love at first bite.

Now, that I’ve finally tried them.. I want more!

They have a cute little shop located in Hamtramck.  However, for the Summer months they are a Market Vendor in Downtown Detroit with an even cuter little Pop Up Shop in Capital Park, which is actually in walking distance from my job. I am planning to visit them this week to try as many flavors as I possibly can. I’m especially excited to try one of their Signatures.. The Fruity Pebbles Macaron!!

Anywhoo.. I’ll get more into detail next weekend when I post all about that experience.

I am officially Detroit’s Wine Diva!

I am so excited to announce that I’ve officially signed up with Wine Shop At Home as an Independent Wine Consultant!


I’ve been dragging my feet on signing up and have decided that this is the month in which I stop procrastinating and make it happen. I joined on Wednesday and I’m ready to Rock and Roll!  I don’t know if I’m more excited about meeting new people and sharing the companies Artisan Wine Collection through Tastings, or if I’m more excited about my personal wine membership and all of the fabulous pairing ideas and recipes that will be birthed from my monthly wine selections.

New Experience (Food Truck): NoshPit Detroit

It’s Food Truck Season here in Downtown Detroit!

During the summer months we like to take our lunch breaks outside in and around Campus Martius and Cadillac Square where there’s always great food, live music, and tons of interesting things to do and see. One of my personal favorite activities is visiting the food trucks for a different lunch experience every day. Last week, I saw on Instagram that a Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant that I’ve been dying to try was going to be in Cadillac Square all week so, I had to pay them a visit.

Because, I’ve been planning to visit their Hamtramck Restaurant since their Grand-Opening earlier this year, I already knew that I couldn’t wait to try “The Larry” which is a Vegan Reuben made with Corned Beets, Sauerkraut, Vegan Cheeze or Sharp Cheddar , House-made 1000 Island Dressing, on fresh-grilled NY Kosher Rye.

I might have failed to mention that one of the main ingredients… ❤ “love” made this sandwich incredible. This Vegan spin on a traditional/classic sandwich was very delicious and over exceeded my expectations. I have never had Beets on anything outside of a Salad and was very pleasantly surprised on how flavorful this Sandwich truly was. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience.. good food and super friendly staff. I can’t wait to visit the restaurant to try more of their signature dishes!

Deep Fried Vegan Buffalo Strips

It’s officially been 5 months since I’ve last eaten meat. I not only feel fantastic but, I’ve lost a little weight.

I’ve been having so much fun trying new things.. I’ve made homemade Seitan, tried Tempeh, Mastered Tofu, and have a new found appreciation for Kroger’s pre-made Veggie Burgers, Hot Dogs, Breakfast Sausages, and Italian Sausages. (Who knew that Meat-less Meat could be soooo delicious?)

This week I have been craving something deep fried and Buffalo Flavored.. Got in the kitchen and BAM.. this happened!


Deep Fried Vegan Buffalo Strips


1 16-ounce block tofu, well-pressed

1/4 cup corn starch

1/2 tsp. garlic salt

1/2 tsp. onion powder

1/4 tsp. black pepper

1 cup Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1-To-1 Baking Flour

1/4 cup of Soy Milk

1 to 2 tbsp. oil for pan-frying

1/3 cup hot wing sauce, or any kind of hot sauce you like


After well-pressing your Tofu cut into your desired shape.

In a plastic zip lock bag combine your Seasonings and Cornstarch. Put your Tofu into the mixture and coat.

Heat your oil in a non-stick frying pan.

While your oil is heating.. Dip your Tofu into the Soy Milk and Coat with your Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Flour.

Add Tofu to the oil and pan-fry.. cooking each side until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes on each side).

Once they’re nice and golden.. Remove and Enjoy with your Favorite Hot Sauce and Ranch!


New Experience (Restaurant) : Detroit Vegan Soul ❤

I recently decided to treat myself to a fancy lunch which led me to the cutest little Vegetarian Soul Food Restaurant here in Detroit, Detroit Vegan Soul. They have two locations one near my work and another near my home which is absolutely amazing.

I chose to visit the location near my home and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant had a really nice vibe, it was cute and cozy, and the staff was friendly which is always a bonus.

I had visited their website menu prior to going to the restaurant to get a feel for what they offer and instantly fell in love with Everything on the menu. I ultimately decided to try the Fried Tofu “Catfish” Dinner.

The dinner came with 4 pieces of Fried Tofu “Catfish”, Vegan Tarter Sauce, 2 Hush puppies, Red Skin Potatoes & Onions, and a Broccoli/Corn Medley. Everything was absolutely incredible. I must give a big kudos to them.. That Fried Tofu was Bomb! I’ve learned a neat little trick on how to make delicious Tofu (recipes coming soon) however, after trying this I apparently still have a lot to learn.

Overall, I loved everything about the experience and I now have a new fave place to visit that’s close to home. ❤
