It’s officially been 5 months since I’ve last eaten meat. I not only feel fantastic but, I’ve lost a little weight.
I’ve been having so much fun trying new things.. I’ve made homemade Seitan, tried Tempeh, Mastered Tofu, and have a new found appreciation for Kroger’s pre-made Veggie Burgers, Hot Dogs, Breakfast Sausages, and Italian Sausages. (Who knew that Meat-less Meat could be soooo delicious?)
This week I have been craving something deep fried and Buffalo Flavored.. Got in the kitchen and BAM.. this happened!
Deep Fried Vegan Buffalo Strips
1 16-ounce block tofu, well-pressed
1/4 cup corn starch
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 cup Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1-To-1 Baking Flour
1/4 cup of Soy Milk
1 to 2 tbsp. oil for pan-frying
1/3 cup hot wing sauce, or any kind of hot sauce you like
After well-pressing your Tofu cut into your desired shape.
In a plastic zip lock bag combine your Seasonings and Cornstarch. Put your Tofu into the mixture and coat.
Heat your oil in a non-stick frying pan.
While your oil is heating.. Dip your Tofu into the Soy Milk and Coat with your Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Flour.
Add Tofu to the oil and pan-fry.. cooking each side until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes on each side).
Once they’re nice and golden.. Remove and Enjoy with your Favorite Hot Sauce and Ranch!
